Adam Curtis’s new film Hyper-normalisation takes its starting point at 1975, with the New York Bond issue and Austerity imposed by the Wall Street Bankers on that City; this, contrasted with Assad in Syria and his perceived betrayal by Henry Kissinger and US foreign policy in the Middle East. This Interview with Foucault contrasts well with and provides an alternative starting point for Adam Curtis´s argument that Self-referential infotainment is fed on-line to pacify the egotistical narcissistic angst of theBourgeoisiee. The starting point at 1968 perhaps gives the lie that all protest and resistance is futile and neutered.

“The Arab world will be guided further into the Russian camp. The Arab hatred for the Israelis will be carefully nurtured and promoted. The heated debate over Judea and Samaria will serve as the catalyst for the eventual election of strong conservative forces in the Israeli government. These leaders will take a bold stance both diplomatically and militarily against the Palestinians.”
A Possible Scenario for the Future ( Written in 2007)
In the future, we may see the following scenario unfold as the forces of internationalism seek to bring about a "new Imperial System" that will rival the old Roman Empire. Russia must control the Middle East in order to secure control of this region and the oil fields in the Arab nations. The Arab world will be guided further into the Russian camp. The Arab hatred for the Israelis will be carefully nurtured and promoted. The heated debate over Judea and Samaria will serve as the catalyst for the eventual election of strong conservative forces in the Israeli government. These leaders will take a bold stance both diplomatically and militarily against the Palestinians. The Arab world and Russia will invade the nation of Israel. Russia will cut off oil to the West. There will be a severe crisis in Europe, Japan and the United States and other parts of the world. Anarchy will reign. The people of the world will turn against Israel and demand it surrender to the Russian and Arab forces. The people of the Western world will call for their leaders to end the crisis. The people will be told that the only way to end this terrible conflict will be to accept a system of global governance under the "new Imperial System." The war in the Middle East creates economic chaos throughout the world. The elite face intense pressure from the conflict in the Middle East and they begin to war among themselves. Military conflicts break out all over the world. The international financial, economic and trading systems of the elite financial oligarchy collapse. Every stock market on earth crashes in a single day. Nuclear weapons are launched by various nations and World War III is underway. The horrors of war, pestilence and plague create unbelievable havoc throughout the nations of the earth. Billions of people are slain.
Michael L Chadwick 2007 (1996)

### Essay: Mono Chrome Dystopia, The Many Not the Few, The Internet Fades to Grey
#### Introduction
In an age where digital narratives shape our understanding of reality, Adam Curtis's "Hypernormalisation" serves as a poignant critique of how media and infotainment pacify societal angst. This essay explores the themes of power, resistance, and cultural reflection, set against the backdrop of a world that seems to be fading into a monochrome dystopia.
#### Hypernormalisation and Media Influence
Curtis's film argues that media narratives create a self-referential loop, distracting from genuine societal issues. By examining historical events such as the New York Bond issue and Middle Eastern politics, Curtis highlights the perceived powerlessness of individuals against systemic control. This theme resonates with the notion that the internet, once a vibrant space for discourse, is increasingly becoming a grey landscape of curated content.
#### Political and Economic Critique
The thread delves into the cyclical nature of economic crises, critiquing the influence of financial oligarchies and global power dynamics. The narrative suggests a shift towards a new "Imperial System," with Russia's strategic moves in the Middle East serving as a focal point. This geopolitical analysis underscores the tension between national interests and global governance.
#### Social Constructionism and Resistance
Despite the overwhelming narrative of futility, there is a call for critical engagement and the pursuit of alternative viewpoints. Historical protests and the role of democratic discourse are emphasized, challenging the notion that resistance is neutered. This theme is crucial in understanding the potential for change amidst a seemingly static political landscape.
#### Personal and Historical Reflections
Personal stories and historical accounts, such as those of South Wales coal miners, provide depth to the discussion. These reflections highlight the enduring significance of past struggles and achievements, serving as a reminder of the resilience and agency of individuals in shaping their destinies.
#### Cultural and Artistic References
The use of songs and poetry enriches the narrative, offering a cultural critique of contemporary issues. Music and literature become tools for resistance, echoing the sentiments of past movements and emphasizing the power of art to inspire change.
#### Conclusion
As the internet fades to grey, becoming a space of controlled narratives, the challenge lies in reclaiming it as a platform for genuine discourse and resistance. The themes explored in this thread remind us of the importance of critical engagement, historical reflection, and cultural expression in navigating the complexities of our modern world.

A Cruel Baptism The Disaster Wilfred Wilson Gibson from “Poems of Toil”.
Against the sunset’s rose Purple the pithead glows- The mound of slate and slack That all day long bloomed black: And the gaunt shaft-wheel seems Hub to a wheel of dreams, With flaming spokes that whirl In a celestial swirl Of hues beneath whose fire, With patience naught can tire, Quiet, with close-shawled head, Each woman waits her dead.
"There was no transport provided in those days to convey injured men to their homes. As the sad cortege wended its way through the village streets,
onlookers knew at a glance whether the man being carried was injured but not fatally so, because of a long established practice of carrying men fatally hurt on the shoulders of the bearer party while injured men were carried at waist level.
I accompanied the bearers until I reached my home. Then I broke away to give the news to my parents and to have a bath. Later that day we heard that my butty had died of a broken spine. Strangely enough I felt no emotion, though when in due course, a service was held at the Church and I took my place in the choir this was remedied. A very moving service which brought to my mind my butty’s rendering of the aria It is Enough."

An example of Writers such as Charlton in the Past would be, say, Ezra Pound and his ABC of economics. Now Pound was a Fascist, that does not though diminish the criticism of debt based money and the Gold Standard, set out in his ABC of economics. I would argue the Same applies to Charlton, but also to Adolph Hitler and Mein Kamph. I have read all three, they provide insights to particular and peculiar world views but provide a perspective on events which the Orthodox Historical narrative obscure. Frank Harris is another writer worth reading, he was a friend and biographer of Oscar Wilde, yet his book, England or Germany a critique of social relations in the the UK , USA and Germany in the run-up to the First world war is a perspective you will not find in any standard History Text,
Kant contrasts “apodictic” with “problematic” and “assertoric” in the Critique of Pure Reason, on page A70/B95. . These matters are to do with what we know as truth in the world which is sometimes called reality. Some commentators have been arguing a ´Post-Truth´ turn in the news this is a logical error in reasoning for as Frank Harris says in England or Germany, p.144 ( https://lnkd.in/drbbA-22)
´´Genius welcomes criticism; the more the
merrier, the higher the better. “Come look
what I’m doing´´, it cries fearlessly, knowing
that truth must help it and that in an open
struggle between truth and falsehood, truth has
nothing to fear. ´´
The same goes for Tragedy and Hope by Caroll Quigley, he was writing from the perspective of an elitist and yet manages to provide the core of most of the John Bircher type narratives in Skousen and Alex Jones´s world views,

”The reader of Pope, as of every author, is advised to begin by letting him say what he has to say, in his own manner to an open mind that seeks only to receive the impressions which the writer wishes to convey. First let the mind and spirit of the writer come into free, full contact with the mind and spirit of the reader, whose attitude at the first reading should be simply receptive. Such reading is the condition precedent to all true judgment of a writer’s work. All criticism that is not so grounded spreads as fog over a poet’s page. Read, reader, for yourself, without once pausing to remember what you have been told to think´´.

The video explores how non-linear warfare and political strategies, influenced by conceptual art, create confusion and destabilized perceptions, rendering opposition powerless and individuals unable to challenge the system effectively.
