Stratagem XXXVI
You may also puzzle and bewilder your opponent by mere bombast; and the trick is possible, because a man generally supposes that there must be some meaning in words:
Gewohnlich glaubt der Mensch, wenn er nur Worte hort,
Es musse sich dabei doch auch was denken lassen.
If he is secretly conscious of his own weakness, and accustomed to hear much that he does not understand, and to make as though he did, you can easily impose upon him by some serious fooling that sounds very deep or learned, and deprives him of hearing, sight, and thought; and by giving out that it is the most indisputable proof of what you assert. It is a well-known fact that in recent times some philosophers have practised this trick on the whole of the public with the most brilliant success. But since present examples are odious, we may refer to The Vicar of Wakefield for an old one.
I would have all men kings. I would be a king myself. We have all naturally an equal right to the throne: we are all originally equal.
The generality of mankind … have unanimously created one king, whose election at once diminishes the number of tyrants, and puts tyranny at the greatest distance from the greatest number of people. Now the great who were tyrants themselves before the election of one tyrant, are naturally averse to a power raised over them … It is the interest of the great, therefore, to diminish kingly power as much as possible; because whatever they take from that, is naturally restored to themselves; and all they have to do in the state is to undermine the single tyrant, by which they resume their primeval authority.
He goes on to say that this undermining, this ambition, is facilitated by the accumulation of wealth, and that the state is set up in such a way as to concentrate wealth in the hands of a few at the expense of the many, and power solely in the hands of the wealthy at the expense of the qualified.
Title: The Euro Crisis: A Crisis of Democratic Oversight
The so-called Euro Crisis is not just a financial or economic issue; at its core, it is a crisis of democratic oversight. The unfair advantage ceded to private financial interests has led to the abuse of the right to issue the means of exchange, which is relied upon and dependent upon the cooperation of all in society.
In a recent discussion on Linked in about the Euro Crisis, I shared my thoughts on this matter and also presented two songs I wrote on the subject. The first song, "Let Them Eat Cake," reflects the disparity and greed prevalent in the banking world, while the second song, "99%," voices the struggles of the common people in the face of economic inequality. These songs serve as a poignant commentary on the current state of affairs and the urgent need for change.
The Euro Crisis is not just a financial or economic issue; at its core, it is a crisis of democratic oversight. The unfair advantage ceded to private financial interests has led to the abuse of the right to issue the means of exchange, which is relied upon and dependent upon the cooperation of all in society.
I believe that the current situation is worse than in 2007/2008 as the Central Banks, which are essentially controlled privately (certainly the Fed), are allowing the concentration of more power into a smaller number of huge Global Banking Brands. We are asked to believe that stronger regulation and stricter enforcement of liquidity will prevent what happened in 2007/2008. However, this optimistic view is being sold to our governments by the banks, leading to a lack of true reform.
In light of these issues, I am supporting an organization called Positivemoney.org.uk, which seeks a reform of fractional reserve banking. It is evident that the current system, which relies on 3% long-term compound growth to support the debt money system, is unsustainable. As economies face stormy waters and debt ceilings, it is clear that a change is necessary.
The attached analysis points to a current overvaluation in the stock market and another potential bubble in the tech industry. Real incomes are severely squeezed, and aggregate demand in the real economy is weak. Globalization is doing similar damage to the UK economy as the elitism of the Premier League football has done to the national football team. It is crucial to address these issues and work towards a more equitable economic system.
I believe that Positive Money.org is the best platform to advocate for sovereign interests in British economic policy. By engaging in discussions about these important matters and raising awareness among our family and friends, we can work towards limiting the damage caused by policies that prioritize the interests of a few over the greater majority.
The current system condemns the vast majority of citizens to certain failure, with 97% of money in circulation representing the debt of some other person in society. It is clear that a stakeholder society, where society has oversight of its organizational structures, is needed. This would shift away from special interests and selfish interests towards a judgment based on the common good for all stakeholders.
It is time to dismantle and rebuild both governments and corporations in the image of the people for communities and the society they want to see. By thinking locally and allowing the big to grow out of the small, we can foster cooperation and mutual benefit rather than exploitation.
The global financial system has become a hydra of financialized kleptocracy, with several discernible heads spreading across different regions. From Wall Street in the West to Frankfurt in the East, a curtain of debt has descended, seeking to trap us all. It is crucial that we withdraw cooperation from this system and work towards practical schemes for local benefit.
The circularity of the international financial fiat debt money web is highly interdependent across borders. The Western fiat money system has been pegged to the Petrodollar as the main settlement currency since the early seventies. However, there are growing indications that this system is under pressure, with various countries considering alternative agreements.
The design flaw inherent in our current economic system is ruining societies around the world. It is time for a Copernican revolution in our understanding of money and economics. We must address the excessive power of finance capital and strive for a broader discussion and change in thinking to address the inherent contradictions and limitations of capitalism.
In conclusion, it is evident that the Euro Crisis goes beyond mere financial or economic challenges. It is a crisis rooted in democratic oversight and fairness. By advocating for reform, supporting organizations like Positive Money.org, and engaging in discussions about these crucial matters, we can work towards creating a more equitable and sustainable economic system for all stakeholders.
It is time to shift away from special interests and selfish motives and work towards a judgment based on the common good for all stakeholders. By dismantling and rebuilding governments and corporations in the image of the people, we can foster cooperation and mutual benefit rather than exploitation.
Let us strive for a more equitable and sustainable economic system that serves the greater majority of citizens and promotes fairness and democratic oversight.
Canada's 2024 Federal Budget is out and lots of money is being applied to various projects and needs, but do people realize that our tax pool has dwindled, due to climate and green energy subsidies? Very substantial sums of tax dollars are diverted to the crop of 'green' Environmental Non-governmental Organizations (ENGOs), most of which are charities. This means that if someone donates to one of them, they get a tax receipt which allows them to pay less in taxes. It also means that the ENGOs agitate for more green projects, sometimes acting as proxies for their donors. It seems like ever since Earth Day was established, people have taken second place when it comes to tax dollars for important needs like health care, infrastructure, higher education and national defence. Friends of Science Society has several short reports which summarize the situation up to 2019. https://blog.friendsofscience.org/201... Robert Lyman has also written a new report: What are Climate Policies Costing Canada? which will be posted on our blog. Hi Tim,
“This process, however it is carried out, destroys value.”
The SEEDS 20 version of the model calculates the scope for “value destruction” at $320tn. Not all of this is potential default, of course, as it includes a slump in the values of assets and other reductions in “assumed wealth”.
In the matter of Debt default when you say “Value” is destroyed what do you mean?
Value is but an abstract upon an abstract. Wes Free and I had a very long and productive discussion back in the spring over the course of several weeks regarding Wes’s #Quanta and #Big Apple plan.
I am not a great fan of blowing smoke up the arse of anyone, see my reservations on Steve Keen, Richard Murphy and also myself. Ingroup Bias is the enemy of intellectual discovery.

Let me be a little more specific here.
If you hold shares priced at $300, you’re likely to think – as everyone does – that you have “value” of that amount. If the market then crashes, taking the shares down to $200, you feel you’ve “lost” $100 of “value”.
Actually, of course, you haven’t. Rather, the shares were over-priced at $300. If you bought them for $200 or less, using your own money, you’re fine. No money has left your bank account. As JS Mill said, busts don’t destroy value, but reveal value previously destroyed by malinvestment.
Now imagine, though, that you paid $250 for the shares, and borrowed the money to buy them. This “value destruction” is real, rather than purely notional.
Additionally, as the share price rose, you might have either (a) used them as collateral for something, and/or (b) gone deep into consumer credit, on the comforting assumption that you could always, if push came to shove, pay it off by selling your $300 shares.
With due deference to JS Mill, crashes do more than reveal the cost of prior malinvestment. Through debt and collateralization, they cause real value destruction, too – especially for those lenders hit by defaults on debts “secured” against the inflated prices of assets, including property as well as shares.

I’m curious; why do you follow and spend time commenting on ‘surplus energy economics’? Tim Morgan’s work represents a similar approach to reality that you seem incapable of with respect to climate science—critical thinking. Another aspect of Dr. Morgan’s work that I suspect you are oblivious to is the application of the laws of thermodynamics to analyses of energy and economic systems. These come into focus around the closely interrelated ecological and economic crises, which linked by energy use. This post (# 155) as well #27 and #73 touch on the significance of thermodynamics in that regard.
As is typical with climate deniers, when called out you have nothing coherent to say, retreating to name calling. Conclusion: Now I know how much weight to give your comments critiquing others.

@Loup I have been reading Tims blog for quite a few years I am a keen scholar on Monetary reform and share the criticisms of Frederick Soddy as relates to usury and money creation. Soddy, you will know was a Nobel prize-winning Chemist.

That’s the real problem I have a mathematics-based analytical degree designate BSc, I am a Chartered surveyor by profession but have not practised since I sold a company and retired when I was in my late 30’s I am now in my mid 50’s.
When I say the AGW CO2 Hypothesis is falsified I use those words in the sense of scientific falsification ( Popper). So, Loup, you see it is possible to agree on some things with other people for different reasons I admire Tims’s work and see Seeds as an excellent tool heading towards the implementation of Wes Freeberg’s Quanta Big apple plan. I have also played with Garvin Boyle models from Orrery Software and enjoyed a correspondence with him,https://orrery-software.webs.com/entropy-in-abms

You’ll understand my scientific and political-economic orientation more if you look at my linkedin page (which I basically use an my on-line resume).
As an environmental advocate and policy analyst since the late 1970s I have been reading and applying the “best available science” to natural resource management issues for decades. Initially I was focused primarily on forestry and related issues—water quality, land use, fisheries. I have been studying AGW since it came to my attention as a crucial aspect of sustainability some time in the 1980s.
I initially pointed out that your initial reference to a video that relied on The Heartland Institute and Richard Lindzen indicated fealty to the world of fossil fuel industry funded climate change denial. You might be offended by that term (“denial”) but it applies. E.g.: https://insideclimatenews.org/news/06032017/climate-change-denial-scientists-richard-lindzen-mit-donald-trump The same holds true, and more so, for the Heartland Institute: https://www.desmogblog.com/2019/08/11/heartland-deniers-deflated-climate-reality (line in opening paragraph: “most people with basic education, common sense, and a lack of financial interest in the fossil fuel industry accept what scientists worldwide have proven through decades of research…”)
Your posts (and web pages) are evidence of an incredible lack of knowledge and insight about climate science. Getting into a lengthy exchange with you on this blog—focused on economics, not science—would be huge waste of my time and Dr. Morgan’s patience. Cheers and carry on; this is my last post in this exchange.

Title: Overpopulation: Unveiling a Holistic Examination
Introduction
Overpopulation is a multifaceted and intricate theoretical issue that has attracted considerable attention in recent times. This article aims to conduct a comprehensive exploration of overpopulation theories, encompassing its definition, origins, and potential consequences. By probing diverse perspectives and challenging theoretical suppositions, we endeavor to bring into focus this Alledged “critical global concern” often behind the beard of Climate Change Alarmism.
Defining Overpopulation
The concept of overpopulation is inherently subjective, denoting a condition where the population surpasses a certain threshold. However, establishing this threshold remains challenging, given the ambiguous boundary between sufficient and excessive population levels. Employing Kipling's "Six Honest Serving Men" – What, Why, When, How, Where, and Who –equips us with valuable avenues to analyze this enigmatic concept.
Why Overpopulation Occurs
Understanding the reasons behind overpopulation is crucial in confronting this issue. It necessitates an exploration of arbitrary limitations, temporal factors, and the demographic structure of overpopulated regions. By scrutinizing the factors contributing to the overwhelmed/capacity state, we can unravel the underlying dynamics fueling overpopulation.
Assessing the Overpopulation Problem
Evaluating the existence of overpopulation demands a meticulous examination of population metrics. The extensive demographic database of the United Nations offers valuable insights into global population trends. Furthermore, overpopulation transcends sheer numerical thresholds; it encompasses spatial considerations such as congestion and resource shortages.
Modeling Overpopulation
To systematically conceptualize overpopulation, a model integrating population and resource availability is indispensable. The equation Pr^Ar = overpopulation encapsulates this relationship, accounting for the balance between requisite resources (Pr) and accessible resources (Ar). Introducing a temporal factor (Tx) further fine-tunes this model, acknowledging the dynamic nature of population and resources.
Contemplating Scenarios and Theoretical Outcomes
Navigating the complexities of overpopulation involves grappling with hypothetical scenarios and diverse viewpoints. Steven B. Kurz's 2000 paper presents a thought-provoking perspective on this subject, sparking critical discourse and counter-presentations. However, discerning between evidence and opinion is paramount in scientific inquiry, emphasizing the need for empirically testable data and predictive models.
Rebutting Misconceptions
Addressing misconceptions surrounding overpopulation is crucial in fostering informed dialogue. Statements assigning increased population to heightened production or material well-being necessitate scrutiny in light of empirical data. While debates persist regarding the relationship between prosperity and fertility rates, empirical evidence indicates a downward trend in both variables.
Theoretical Frameworks on Fertility
Mitali Verma’s review of biological, cultural, and economic theories on fertility illuminates the complex nature of population dynamics. These theories offer diverse perspectives on the interplay between prosperity, societal values, and economic factors in shaping fertility behaviors.
Political Economy and Resource Allocation
The realm of political economy intersects with overpopulation through resource measurement, calculation, and distribution. Political decisions concerning resource allocation are pivotal in addressing overpopulation, as they directly affect the availability of life's necessities such as water, food, and shelter. The influence of large multinational corporations, financial entities, and supranational government bodies underscores the complexity of resource allocation dynamics.
Sustainability and Resource Management
Robert Ayers’ work on sustainability and the second law of thermodynamics provides valuable insights into resource recycling and limits to growth. The interaction between exergy flux, waste accumulation, and sustainable resource management highlights the intricate balance required to address overpopulation within the framework of sustainable development.
Conclusion
In conclusion, overpopulation poses a multifaceted challenge with profound implications for global sustainability. By critically examining its definition, causes, and theoretical foundations, we can foster informed discourse and evidence-based policymaking to address this urgent issue. As we navigate the complexities of overpopulation, a nuanced understanding of demographic dynamics, resource management, and sustainable development is imperative in charting a path towards a more balanced and equitable future for all.

I have done a little bit of reading into Plasma Cosmology. I have been inspired by the writing of Maurice Cotteral and various writings about Nikola Tesla and have come across yesterday Hannes Alfvén a Swedish Plasma Physicist.
Anyway this from Wikipedia on the Aurora Borealis.
The following conversation occurred between two operators of the American Telegraph Line between Boston and Portland, Maine, on the night of 2 September 1859 and reported in the Boston Traveler:
Boston operator (to Portland operator): “Please cut off your battery [power source] entirely for fifteen minutes.”
Portland operator: “Will do so. It is now disconnected.”
Boston: “Mine is disconnected, and we are working with the auroral current. How do you receive my writing?”
Portland: “Better than with our batteries on. – Current comes and goes gradually.”
Boston: “My current is very strong at times, and we can work better without the batteries, as the aurora seems to neutralize and augment our batteries alternately, making current too strong at times for our relay magnets. Suppose we work without batteries while we are affected by this trouble.”
Portland: “Very well. Shall I go ahead with business?”
Boston: “Yes. Go ahead.”
The conversation was carried on for around two hours using no battery power at all and working solely with the current induced by the aurora, and it was said that this was the first time on record that more than a word or two was transmitted in such manner.[25] Such events led to the general conclusion that
The effect of the Aurora on the electric telegraph is generally to increase or diminish the electric current generated in working the wires. Sometimes it entirely neutralizes them, so that, in effect, no fluid is discoverable in them . The aurora borealis seems to be composed of a mass of electric matter, resembling in every respect, that generated by the electric galvanic battery. The currents from it change coming on the wires, and then disappear: the mass of the aurora rolls from the horizon to the zenith.[27]
Aurora australis (11 September 2005) as captured by NASA’s IMAGE satellite, digitally overlaid onto The Blue Marble composite image. An animation created using the same satellite data is also available.
The ultimate energy source of the aurora is the solar wind flowing past the Earth. The magnetosphere and solar wind consist of plasma (ionized gas), which conducts electricity.
Finally Frances Leader who appeared on Delingpod posted this yesterday.
Quite a lot there but if you fancy chatting it all through I am up for it.
Had a chat with John from the Slog Wednesday afternoon, I said he should drop the council of despair and claim the win a bit like boxers do at the end of 12 rounds trying to sway the judges. Said he should seduce his readers old and new into a process of self-actualisation rather than learned helplessness. I will be interested to see if he took any of it on board.

AUTHOR:ROGERGLEWIS PUBLISHED DATE:MAY 1, 2022 10 COMMENTSON SITREP FOR THE 9910 , THE FINANCIAL JIGSAW, SNAFU & IABATO TO STICK YOUR NWO WHERE THE SUN DON’T SHINE! TWO WORLD WARS AND ONE WORLD CUP!
Sitrep 99%. 1 May 2022.
Following the full out attack on civil liberties since March 2020 the dispersed groupings that had led the resistance against the Post 2008 bailouts and austerity regimes through the Occupy movements, have now again regrouped and established communication between themselves and the 99%.The 2700 Billionaires served by the Corporate monopoly establishment have sought to impose Austerity through Inflation and a Hot War in Ukraine Again the multiple cells of resistance across all corporate franchise areas have re-established coherent communications and secured dominance over the psychological and the much degraded groupings of the on the ground forces of State monopoly capitalist violence ( Militarised Police Units).
The psychological theatre has been the last resistance to re-asserting the vector of power from the 99% to its appointed institutions. The extent to which the state monopoly media efforts have exhausted all credibility is now at a level of Public Knowledge, The emperor’s lack of clothing is now openly discussed without fear of fabled state informers or electronic snooping causing a collapse in life chances. This is true of the Sitrep region in which we are reporting, Known as Oceania in the State Monopoly Capitalist franchise manuals. It is presumed that similar breakthroughs in recognising reality are also emerging in East Asia.
Actions required now focus on consolidating the fully sourced evidence of various state crimes against democracy and prioritising repairs to sabotaged supply chains and industrial sectors taken out of commission by the Management fifth columnists under the various banners of WEF and Technofascist Philanthropic foundations, The process must start with rejecting and dismantling the framework implemented through Black Rocks Going Direct paradigm. What is broken through sabotage can be easily repaired and where systems have remained in commission obviously not fit for purpose or designed to fail the process of evaluating and selecting alternative solutions can begin at the appropriate scale and level of democratic institution.
Risks remain as they did following the de-nazification process post 2nd world war and a similar de-radicalisation of higher levels of institutional and corporate management will be necessary to prevent continuity of regime and COG ( Continuity of Government , Gladio 2 ) sleeper saboteurs from preventing the return to the processes of democracy honoured more in the breach than the observation for the past 43 years from 1979 and 50 years since the Nixon shock.

I was exchanging e-correspondence with an inner-circle chum the other day, and he wrote (with his usual accessible boil-it-down intelligence)
The Vicar of Wakefield for an old one.
Hi John,
Sent this message to Ranjan whilst sending through the stuff He and I might chat about today.
